Simple is beautiful.
Every idea is a seed. But no seed will grow without the right conditions. Good design nurtures and cultivates an idea, pruning off everything nonessential so that it can grow to its most fruitful potential.
But relevant, engaging content doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It takes intuition, experience, and the right tools. More importantly, it takes collaboration, rooted in trust, to arrive at that perfect synthesis of simplicity and clarity.
Because design is also a language, and it can speak to everyone.
Ronan Lannuzel has been honing his graphic design toolkit for over 25 years. After internships in Dublin, Ireland and Vancouver, BC, he established his own studio, Made By Design, in 2004.
Being fluent in both English and French offers a unique perspective that can lead to more meaningful symbolism—and a diverse array of clientele, including publishers, non-profit organizations, microbreweries, wilderness training and equipment specialists, and the French-language school system of British Columbia.
Originally from Brittany, on France’s west coast, he prefers to spend his free time outdoors—most likely kicking a soccer ball, or playing in, on, or near the water.
Emily Ruth is the studio’s copy writer, editor, and content strategist. She highlights the most intriguing aspects of any subject to make sure each client’s story finds its best audience, makes people smile or think, and touches something that resonates with our shared humanity.
Favorite topics include nature, outdoor sports, holistic health and fitness, lifestyle philosophy, arts/culture/music, and foods/beverages—with an emphasis on traditional, ethnic, and vegetarian foodways.
She holds a degree in Graphic Design with a minor in Writing, and her 30-plus years of literary experience encompass magazine and news articles, informational and promotional materials, technical manuals, ad copy, newsletter and email campaigns, a couple of books, and even the occasional poem or song lyric.
